Podolski Honey Farms was founded in 1954 by Ed & Roxanne Podolski in Ethelbert, Manitoba. New to beekeeping, they acquired just 9 beehives from their neighbor. They began learning how to nurture their beehives to grow and produce honey. Over the next 8 years, Ed & Roxanne increased their hives from 9 to 500 allowing them to support their family. Ed & Roxanne found honey production particularly rewarding. They enjoyed watching the bees collect nectar from a variety of different flowers and crops, and returning to the hives to make honey with different flavor profiles. They began to appreciate that critical role that bees play in agriculture and began touting the benefits of pollination from honey bees to the agricultural community. What gave Ed & Roxanne the greatest joy was hearing how much their customers enjoyed their honey. Ed & Roxanne took great pride in producing premium quality honey to feed the world with nature's sweetener from the pristine prairies of Canada.
In 1982 Ed was awarded the Manitoba Beekeepers Association Bee Hive Award, acknowledging his generous contribution of service to the beekeepers of Manitoba. Ed & Roxanne grew their business and passed their knowledge onto their children and Podolski Honey Farms is now in its 3rd generation. What has remained constant is the Podolski passion for producing the highest quality and sweetest tasting genuine honey which is among the finest in the world.
