Gold Roots Farm was founded by Aimee and Kevin in 2020. Our love for farming came from working on organic farms in Italy in 2015 and 2016 through the WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) program. It was in Italy that we learned the simple pleasures of life and the love of cultivating clean food. We will never forget the beautiful memories and the deep lessons learned while in Italy.
Our love for growing food continued to blossom while living in Honolulu, Hawaii. We were blessed to find a home with growing space and a landlord who not only encouraged us to run the garden, but shared her abundant horticultural knowledge with us. In Hawaii we fell in love with growing and sharing food – we made firm plans to start a farm one day. Our dream to start a farm became a reality after moving back to northern California in January 2020. If there is one thing that Hawaii and Italy both taught us, it is that the deep connection to your roots is sacred and should be treated as such. For this reason, we felt that northern California, at the tip of the valley, was the place that our farm belonged.
We proudly grow in the north valley, for our community, for you. We hope to connect our community to responsibly produced and nutrient-dense food.
